Left Alive takes place in 2127, in the fictional city of Novo Slava. A devastating attack leaves the city inundated with enemy troops, mechs, and the burning husks of buildings. You play as three different characters trying to survive the invasion, and making difficult choices along the way. Left Alive will, apparently, feature some degree of choice that alters how the story plays out.

A post on the PlayStation Blog describes an example as coming across a couple of soldiers holding refugees at gunpoint. Do you rush in and try to save the refugees, or stealth your way around and not risk your life? Choices like this will affect both the supplies you have, as well as your character’s story.

Characters designs are done by Yoji Shinkawa, the renowned character designer of the Metal Gear series. Additionally, Wanzer designs will be done by Shinkawa and Takayuki Yanase (Xenoblade Chronicles X). Left Alive is being directed by Toshifumi Nabeshima, the primary director of the Armored Core series.

Left Alive launches on March 5, 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One.
