Here’s How Long it Takes to Run Across Horizon Zero Dawn’s Map

A long journey awaits.
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

Horizon Zero Dawn is finally releasing this week and players will be excited to finally jump into this world teeming with stunning visuals and towering machines. Of course, with this being an open world game, many players will be wondering just exactly how big Horizon Zero Dawn’s map is.

The short answer is it’s pretty huge, though it’s definitely not the biggest open world map to date. To give you an idea of just how big the world map is in Horizon Zero Dawn, we decided to run from one side of it to the other.

Doing so, it took us 20 minutes to cover the entire map from east to west. It’s worth noting that we did have a few altercations with Stormbirds and Ravagers along the way, but we never properly engaged these in combat. Instead, we ran away and continued to the waypoint. We also tried to run from point to point as the crow flies for as much of the map as possible. When we reached an obstacle we couldn’t traverse we took one of the roads around it.

Hopefully, our sprint across Horizon Zero Dawn’s map will give you an idea of just how big it is and just how long you can spend exploring this world. Of course, you can speed up your traveling around the world by riding machines or using fast travel points if you’re in a hurry.

And that’s how long it’ll take you to get from one side of the world to the other. Picked up Horizon Zero Dawn and need help? Check out our ever-expanding wiki guide for tips, tricks, and guides.
