Halo Wars 2 is still trucking along and is kicking off a new season of ranked content today. With the update that is presumably going live today, if it isn’t already for you, the game will now be 100% crossplay between PC and Xbox One. There will no longer be any playlists that feature separation of the two platforms. Specifically, the 2v2 playlist is now crossplay enabled, and the non-crossplay version of 3v3 is being removed. The move is likely to annoy some players for sure, but personally, one of the unique features of Halo Wars 2 is being a RTS that allows PC and console to play together, so why not just fully embrace that at this point I guess.
With the start of the new season also comes a hefty amount of new balance changes coming to both leaders and specific units. The changes were decided on by the balance team in response to the public test server results. So good on you if you participated and helped make the game a little more balanced, well, hopefully anyway.
