This is particularly relevant considering that this award is entirely fan-voted, while the rest of the awards weigh the critics’ opinion for 90% of the results and the fans’ only for 10% of the outcome.

It’s certainly an achievement for the folks at Sucker Punch, who released an absolutely excellent game this year.

If you’re interested in the rest of the awards, which will be announced on Thursday, December 10, you can read the nominees here.

Of course, you can expect the full winners’ list to be published here on Twinfinite as soon as the awards are announced.

Ghost of Tsushima is currently available exclusively for PS4 and you can read our review to see why many fans love it.

We recently heard that the game sold over five million copies and is the fastest-selling first-party original PS4 game of all time.

Despite being developed by a western team, Ghost of Tsushima managed to gain many fans in Japan as well by honoring the country’s tradition and lore, so much that recently a popular TV show dedicated a special episode to Sucker Punch’s latest labor of love.
