In a post to the Xbox website, it was announced Gears 5 would see another round of tech tests tied to its versus multiplayer this weekend.

However, this round would be open to anyone who has an Xbox Live Gold subscription as part of this weekend’s Xbox Live Free Play Days.

These players will have access to the full array of the test’s game modes, including King of the Hill, Escalation and Tour of Duty.

They’ll likewise be open to receiving rewards tied to the tech test; namely the Wreath Bloodspray, which can be earned by playing at least one match between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. PDT on Friday, July 26.

To enter, players simply need to download the Gears 5 tech test to their console from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Once they do, they’ll be able to boot up the tech test when it begins at 10 a.m. PDT on July 26, and can enter matches after completing the bootcamp mode.

The developers do warn, though, that the tech test is meant to trouble-shoot issues that could affect the game upon release, and as such players may experience issues such as lengthy queuing upon trying to enter more heavily populated match types.

The full details on this weekend’s tech test can be viewed here.

Announced during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference, Gears 5 is the latest entry in the Gears of War series. The game sees the previous game’s protagonist Kait Diaz set out in search of the origins of the Locust and how her family is tied to them.

The game is currently slated for release on Sept. 10, 2019 on Xbox One and PC. For more on the game, check out one of the game’s latest trailers introducing the new character Fahz.
