Fortnite’s Next Tournament Is About Catching the Most Fish

Fortnite studio Epic Games announced a new tournament for the game that requires players to catch the most fish instead of fighting to be the last one standing.

The Fishing Frenzy Contest will be open to all Fortnite: Battle Royale players when it begins at 8 a.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 22. All players need to participate are two-factor authentication enabled on their accounts and simply catch fish with a Fishing Rod only during Solos, Duos, or Squads matches.

Each server region will have on winner in several categories based on catching the most fish or catching the most of a certain type of fish. Winners for those categories will receive a real-life, engraved Llama Trophy.

Players will be able to check out each region’s leaderboards showing the top 10 players for each category through the blog post of the contest announcement.

Anyone who catches a Mythic Goldfish during the competition will receive an in-game Bottom Dweller Pickaxe, while all participants will receive a Play to Win spray.

The Fortnite Fishing Frenzy Contest will begin on Friday, Nov. 22 at 8 a.m. ET until Sunday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. ET.
