Final Fantasy XV was originally released at the end of 2016, and Square Enix just won’t let this game fade away into nothing, it seems. According to an interview with Dengeki Online (via Game Informer), director Hajime Tabata stated that the team wanted to continue to create more DLC content for the game.
There are three episodes planned for a 2018 release, and the first one will revolve around antagonist Ardyn Izunia. Tabata has previously stated that the team was aware of the fans’ desire for a story episode about Luna, though nothing concrete has been announced just yet. In the interview, Tabata announced that they’ve decided to work on a fourth episode, on top of the three announced for this year, and we should expect to see these episodes spread out across 2018 and into next year.
The first three episodes revolved around Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis, and they’re already available as part of the first season pass. Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One on Mar. 6, and the Windows Edition will be releasing that day as well.
