Crysis Remastered received a free update today that upgrades the game’s graphics and performance for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
The update adds three different modes for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S players to choose between prioritizing graphics or framerate. Both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 can play the game up to 60 frames per second for all modes, though some modes on Xbox Series S will only go up to 30 frames per second.
The Performance mode targets 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second on all platforms. Quality mode brings the resolution up to 2160p for Xbox consoles and 1800p for PlayStation 5, but the Xbox Series S is capped at 30 frames per second. The RayTracing mode offers 1440p at 60 frames per second for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S for 1080p at 30 frames per second.
The update also adds another level that was previously cut from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Crysis from 2011, and was not availed at launch for Crysis Remastered. The Ascension level lets the player pilot a MV-24H Vulture VTOL off the island. The update also fixes a long list of graphical bug fixes and other improvements listed here.
