The cinematic trailer sets the mood for the game’s campaign but is light on actual gameplay footage. Fortunately, IGN also live-streamed an extended look at the game of Company of Heroes 3 along with bits of developer commentary.

Company of Heroes 3 will take place in the Mediterranean, a move that Relic Games says is in response to player feedback. Confirmed factions so far include British and American forces.

In addition to familiar mechanics such as flanking and cover, Company of Heroes will add a new breach mechanic which will allow players to get at garrisoned enemy troops in buildings.

Italy will be a core location in Company of Heroes 3 where verticality, true sight, and having the high ground, will be a major gameplay consideration according to the developers.

Other new features include full Navy support, return of PvP, and a single-player-only Tactical Pause, that will allow players to stop the game and relay orders to units; kind of like what was used in Final Fantasy VII Remake if you’re familiar with that.

Finally, if you’re interested in participating in the pre-Alpha, you can sign up for it here, or you can check out its Steam page if you’re trying to just get it set up on your wishlist.
