Ubisoft has announced that there will be a livestream discussing the development progress of Beyond Good and Evil 2 tomorrow on both Twitch and YouTube.
The livestream will be titled the “Space Monkey Report,” and will begin streaming on both Twitch and Youtube at 9AM PDT, 12PM ET, and 5PM in the UK. The stream will discuss what the game’s developers have been up to in terms of progress with the game, and what they’ve “been up to” with it in general.
This will be the first major insight into the game’s development since it was officially revealed to be in progress again at E3 2017, where its launch trailer debuted a whole nine years after the original trailer for the promised sequel to the first Beyond Good and Evil, which was a critical darling of an action-adventure game released now a whole 15 years ago in 2003. The sequel is planned to have a more open world than the original, allowing players to explore multiple planets with their own societies, as well RPG elements that allow the player to customize their character and improve them in specific attributes, along with single-player and online multiplayer elements with a shared universe wherein decisions can affect other players.
The game’s director Michel Ancel – who also directed the original game as well as created the Rayman series – has stated that the game will have a structured story with a beginning and end, but that there will also be elements of a branching narrative that will change certain events based on your own decisions. Despite the 2 in the title, the game’s story is set to take place several generations before the events of the first Beyond Good and Evil.
The development of Beyond Good and Evil 2 has been long and troubled, as most fans should know, and those same fans will likely be happy to know anything new about the game that they can. Beyond Good and Evil 2 does not have a planned release date or any release platforms at this time.
