Warner Bros. Interactive entertainment has revealed two content packs for LEGO DC Super-Villains that tie into the upcoming DC film, Aquaman, which is set to hit theaters nationwide on Dec. 21.

The two-part pack will be available for purchase on Jan. 8, 2019 at a price-point of $5.99 for regular owners of the game. However, if you’re one of the chosen few that purchased the Season Pass ($14.99) or the Deluxe Edition ($74.99), part one of the two-part content packs will be available for download on Dec. 4, while part two will be available Jan. 8.

The content packs will offer players the ability to control both Aquaman and Mera in a story that details Aquaman’s struggle for the Atlantian throne, in opposition to his half-brother, Orm. Aside from the DLC’s additional story content, the packs will also include the following characters from the film for use in free-play:

  • Aquaman (Gladiator)
  • Black Manta (Movie)
  • Mera
  • Orm (Gladiatior)
  • King Nereus
  • Queen Atlanna
  • Aquaman (Movie)
  • Vulko
  • Trench Creature
  • Murk
  • Brine King
  • Orm (Movie)

Part one of the DLC pack will release ahead of the film for season pass holders, so if you’re particularly concerned about spoilers, it might be a good idea to hold off on playing any of it until after you’ve seen the movie.

It’s interesting to see movie tie-in video games move away from full-scale $60 games, and into more digestable content packs that are availabe in existing games; it’s easier to get content like this out there when users already have one foot in the door.

Let us know if you plan on diving back into LEGO DC Super-Villains for this Aquaman DLC, or if you’re just excited to go watch the movie!
