How to Eat Flowers & Other Items in Yooka-Laylee

If you’re going to collect all 145 Pagies in Yooka-Laylee, you’re going to need to learn a ton of different abilities. However, there are some traits cannot be learned, and instead, must be absorbed by eating flowers and other items in the Grand Tomes. Unfortunately, Yooka won’t have this ability available to him at the start.

Instead, you’ll have to go to your good friend Trowzer the snake to purchase some abilities. If you just want to eat the different flowers you see around Yooka-Laylee’s worlds, you’ll need to buy the Slurp Shot move from Trowzer in Tribalstack Tropics. It only costs 30 Quills, so it shouldn’t take you too long to get the funds together.

However, flowers aren’t the only thing that Yooka can eat. You’ll sometimes seem boxes of cannon balls, hives filled with honey and plenty more that Yooka can interact with. In order to actually eat them and take on their unique traits, though, you’ll need another move from Trowzer. This time, you’ll need to grab Slurp State for 40 Quills in Glitterglaze Glacier.

To actually eat either flowers or items in Yooka-Laylee, all you need to do is press B (Circle on PS4) when facing it. Yooka will handle the rest.

That’s all you need to know to eat flowers and other items in Yooka-Laylee. Check out our wiki for more tips, tricks, and information on the game.
