Yakuza Like a Dragon has a wide variety of party members to enlist to your cause, and most of them are given to you for progressing the story. One member, though, is an optional unlock, and you’ll need to fulfill some certain requirements before she’ll become available. That’s why we’re here to walk you through them with a guide on how to unlock the secret party member Eri Kamataki in Yakuza Like a Dragon.
How to Unlock Secret Party Member Eri Kamataki in Yakuza Like a Dragon
To unlock the secret party member Eri Kamataki in Yakuza Like a Dragon, you’ll need to complete a portion of a line of side quests; specifically, those tied to managing Ichiban Confections.
Unlocked early on in the game and introduced to you via the main story, these side quests see you helping a struggling business rise to the top of Yokohama’s ranked businesses. It functions much in the same way as the management side quests in past Yakuza titles, and you gain rewards for each milestone you reach.
This includes unlocking Eri, which occurs after reaching the 100th ranking slot. Once you do, Eri will offer to join your ranks to assist you outside of Ichiban Confections, acting as a party member which you can use at your discretion.
What Type of Party Member Eri Is
As for what Eri Kamataki brings to the table in Yakuza Like a Dragon, it’s well worth the effort of unlocking her.
Starting with the Clerk job, Eri provides a variety of cutting attacks via her office supplies. She wields a Box Cutter as her weapon of choice, and many of her support skills are integral for helping your team avoid damage via evasion buffs for you and accuracy debuffs for your enemies.
She is a bit of a glass cannon though. Her health and defense aren’t very good without the proper gear applied, and she’s more susceptible to stunning than other party members. If you do decide to use her, aim to address and reduce these weaknesses as much as possible.
