Overwatch 2 is out now and there has been plenty of time for players to get hands-on time with the new 5-on-5 matches in competitive play. However, some players still get placed into the lowest competitive tier no matter how well they do in the placement matches. Here’s everything you need to know about when Overwatch 2’s broken ranking system will get fixed.
When Is Overwatch 2’s Broken Ranking System Getting Fixed?
For those who are unfamiliar with competitive play in Overwatch 2, the lowest rank is Bronze 5. There had been multiple reports around the internet from players of all skill levels (even former grandmaster tier players) from the original Overwatch who are getting placed in Bronze 5 in the new title.
While the lowest tier still needs to have people, it seems an unlikely landing place for players who have past experience in high-level play. Overwatch 2 is certainly a different game with 5-on-5 matches and the other character changes, but not to the point where multiple players at one of the highest tiers could suddenly become some of the lowest-ranked players in the world.
As for when this is going to get fixed, the issue has officially been acknowledged and fixed by Blizzard as of the Oct. 13 patch.
Where Is Bastion in Overwatch 2?
On top of this issue, there’s also a bug with Bastion that’s being addressed by Blizzard right now that made the team remove the hero from all game modes. You can read more about what happened right here.
That’s all there is to know about when Overwatch 2’s broken ranking system is going to get fixed. It’s nice that the ranking system is fixed, but it would be nice to get Bastion back.
