What God Does Gorr Worship in Thor: Love and Thunder?

The name of the god that Gorr worships in Thor: Love and Thunder is Rapu, played by actor Jonny Brugh. The two characters meet at the start of the film after the God Butcher stumbles upon an oasis in the middle of the desert.

Gorr asks Rapu why his god had abandoned his people. The god then replies that he doesn’t care about humans, and that there will always be more to come along and worship him.

Gorr insults Rapu, which angers the god, who then picks the human up by the throat, intending to squeeze the life out of him. Before he can, the Necrosword chooses Gorr, corrupting him and letting him stab the god right in the throat.

According to Zeus, Rapu is a lower-level god of little consequence, so the fact that he was egotistical and arrogant makes sense. Outside of that, there isn’t really much known about the God, as he doesn’t seem to be a character in the comics, meaning he was likely just made up for this movie.
