Developed and published by Chucklefish, Wargroove is a new tactical turn-based strategy game for consoles and PC. In addition to its story campaign, the game also features an Arcade Mode that lets you play any of the 12 commanders. Here’s how to unlock all Arcade Mode commanders and characters in Wargroove.

For the most part, playing through the side missions in the story campaign will allow you to unlock most of the characters. Right from the start of the game, you’ll have access to Mercia in Arcade Mode as she’s the main protagonist of Wargroove, but here’s how to unlock the rest of the commanders:

  • Mercia: Automatically unlocked at the start of the game.
  • Emeric: Complete Act 3 Mission 2 in the story campaign.
  • Caesar: Complete Act 2 Side 1 in the story campaign.
  • Greenfinger: Complete Act 2 Side 2 in the story campaign.
  • Nuru: Complete Act 2 Side 3 in the story campaign.
  • Sedge: Coming soon.
  • Sigrid: Coming soon.
  • Ragna: Complete Act 3 Side 2 in the story campaign.
  • Valder: Coming soon.
  • Koji: Coming soon.
  • Ryota: Coming soon.

As you can see, most of the commanders are unlocked in Arcade Mode by doing all the optional missions in Wargroove’s story campaign. As you progress through the campaign, these missions will be unlocked naturally, and you can simply select them from the world map to attempt the mission.

Once you’ve managed to clear the battle successfully, the character that you took control of in the side mission will be available to play as in Arcade Mode. You can access this additional mode from the single-player option in the main menu.
