The Deliverer

This handy 10mm pistol packs a surprising punch, but that isn’t the only thing that makes it one of the best Legendary weapons in Fallout 4. It comes equipped with a Suppressor which makes it extremely handy for stealth play. While it may not have the best range and accuracy, it receives a sizable buff when used in V.A.T.S. to both of those stats, as well as a lower Action Point cost. That means you can shoot more, have a better chance of hitting, and never get caught. Isn’t that what survival is all about?

To get your hands on this bad boy just complete the first Railroad quest with Deacon.

Le Fusil Terribles

Unfortunately, shotguns are clunky, don’t carry many rounds, and take forever to reload. Oh, and you can forget about hitting anything more than a couple of steps away from you. That’s unless you have the Le Fusil Terribles, of course.

This shotgun has a 32 round drum, can take off a head at the other end of the room, fires at a decent rate (even though it says its Fire Rate is only 20), and can eat through most enemies (though useless against heavily armored ones unless you get an armor piercing mod). It is hands down the best shotgun in Fallout 4 and easily one of the best Legendary weapons in the game.

To get your hands on this tool of death, you’ll just need to clear out the Libertalia point on the map. You can find it to the North East, it’s a small encampment on the water.

Furious Power Fist

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

This Legendary weapon is exactly what you’d expect. It’s furious. It’s powerful. You wear it on your fist. Of course, that’s not what makes it a weapon worth coveting. This weapon can one-hit kill almost any fleshy opponent.

When using in a stealth setting, the double damage will decimate even a few not so fleshy enemies. On top of that, every successive hit does more damage, making for some serious beatdowns. Other melee weapons don’t even come close.

To get your hand inside of this devastating machine, you’ll need to defeat Swan in the park located right next to Boston Commons’ fast travel point. Bring your Gatling Gun and plenty of grenades because this special Behemoth is one seriously tough foe.

Lorenzo’s Artifact Gun

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

For the most part Gamma Weapons aren’t the most useful way to kill things in Fallout 4’s Boston Wasteland. It’s not that they aren’t powerful, it’s the fact that they heavily rely on an enemy not having radiation resistance. In a world built heavily upon the fact that a nuke was dropped, most residents are completely immune to the effects. That may make it seem like Lorenzo’s Artifact Gun would have no chance out in the wild, but you’d be wrong. It’s special ability (which isn’t described at all) makes it more than worth adding to your repertoire.

First is to find the weapon. It is actually an optional reward from the side quest The Secret of Cabot House. It’s the last in the Jack Cabot questline that you can begin by talking to the Ghoul Edward Deegan (can be found wandering Diamond City, Goodneighbor, or Bunker Hill). At the end you’ll have the option to kill Lorenzo Cabot or spare him. If you choose to kill him you can convince Jack to give you a better reward which will lead him to tell you to return in a week. What he does is creates a weapon using Lorenzo’s Artifact that he gives to you.

The weapon possesses Lorenzo’s telekinetic abilities giving it a sort of Force Push effect. Even if it can’t do any radiation damage the gun can push enemies away and even tear their limbs off so don’t let the low damage stat fool you. There’s nothing like watching an entire group of enemies burst into a cloud of gore as you hit them with a huge telekinetic blast.

Kellogg’s Pistol

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

The stopping power on this .44 Revolver is no joke, and it makes sense that one of the most feared mercenaries in the Boston wasteland called this his weapon. Kellogg is the man you’re looking for and pursuing the main quest line will eventually lead you to the quest, Reunions, which will place you face to face with this cold-hearted killer.

It’s not the easiest fight in the world, so deal with his Synth companions first, and then use your companion to draw fire from Kellogg since he goes invisible. You won’t be able to use V.A.T.S. while he’s invisible, so just pick a weapon and start plugging away at him. Eventually, he’ll lose his stealth camo and you’ll be able to tear him apart strategically or just continue to blast away at him. Once all is said and done, just loot him to grab the mother of all revolvers.

This Legendary weapon may not be the quickest option out there, but if your aim is true, then nothing will stand in your way for long.

Alien Blaster Pistol

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

There’s just something about alien weaponry that makes it fit perfectly into the harsh Boston Wasteland of Fallout 4. The pew pews that ring out from this toy-like gun may bring a smile to your face, but for those staring down the oddly shaped barrel, it is nothing less than a nightmare. They just know that they’re about to be reduced to a blue pile.

The Alien Blaster Pistol is easiest one of the strongest weapons in the game if you don’t count a certain mini-nuke launcher. It’s able to eat through the highest of health bars and armor. To get it, you just need to do a bit of clearing out and then be in the right place at the right time. Check out our guide for how to unlock it over here!

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Righteous Authority

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

Righteous Authority is a legendary energy rifle that you can obtain in Fallout 4 by completing a simple quest. Head over to the Cambridge Police Station (the location where you can join the Brotherhood of Steal). Help the members that are there deal with their Ghoul problem and then talk to Paladin Danse. This will trigger the Call to Arms quest. Simply complete that quest and the gun is yours.

Critical shots with this rifle do double damage and you will have the added bonus of filling up your critical meter faster. That means you’ll be exploding heads and removing limbs with ease.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Junk Jet

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

The Junk Jet isn’t exactly a legendary weapon, at least not by Fallout 4’s standards. But fans of the series will definitely consider it one due to it’s unique nature. The Junk Jet uses any junk items in your inventory as ammunition making it the gun that’s easiest to keep well stocked. You can actually obtain this one while working towards your Righteous Authority.

The Call to Arms quest will bring you to the basement of Arcjet Systems. You will find this weapon in the engine control room sitting right on top of a table.

Big Boy

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

What’s better than a gun that fires a Mini-Nuke? How about a gun that fires two of them? The ultimate demonstration of overkill design, the Big Boy fires two Mini-Nukes simultaneously for one seriously powerful explosion that can easily decimate most enemies. You would think that this one would be very difficult to find but luckily it’s right in the open, provided you have the caps to pay for it of course.

You can purchase the Big Boy from Arturo down at the Diamond City Market. Just make sure not to give this to Cait, or fire it in small spaces.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Spray N’ Pray

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

Tommy Guns are great for letting a lot of bullets fly in a short amount of time, but they aren’t always the most useful weapons for dealing tons of damage. But, if you add explosive capabilities to each shot you are then ready to take on the world. Luckily, that’s exactly what Spray N’ Pray brings to the table.

You can get your hands on this bad boy by heading over to Vault 81 and purchasing it from Cricket. You’ll find him sitting down in a chair near the entrance.

Survivor’s Special

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

If you’re anything like me, you’ll often find yourself with lower health than you’d probably like. That’s when crunch time hits, and you need a weapon that can get you out of a tough situation. Survivor’s Special does increased damage when you have low health making it the perfect weapon when you find yourself in a pinch.

Getting it is a bit tricky, though. It is carried by Paladin Brandis who can be found at Recon Bunker Theta. You can either pickpocket him or kill him for the gun. Just keep in mind that ater the Lost Patrol quest, he will no longer be found at this location.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Good Intentions

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

The road to hell is paved with good intentions, but you can also pave it with the bodies of raiders, mutants, and robots. Good Intentions is a legendary that causes frenzy to any enemy struck with a critical hit. Frenzy will make that enemy attack any nearby buddies, saving you ammo, and leaving them dead.

You’ll have to kill a man named Clint located on top of that broken down freeway in Quincy Ruins (head far south-east). He’ll be in a shack but keep in mind that he’s in Power Armor so he won’t be the easiest person to kill.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Ashmaker

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

Mini Guns are what you use when you want your enemy to know that they stand no chance at all. These eat through behemoths, Deathclaws, power armor, and more. But if you really want to add insult to injury, it’s fun to set enemies on fire while tearing them to shreds. That’s where the Ashmaker comes in.

To get this powerful weapon, you’ll need to betray Bobbi at the end of the quest The Big Dig. You can start this quest by heading down the alley near where you first enter Goodneighbor.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Cryolator

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

Anybody can set somebody on fire with a flamethrower. Video games have been allowing you to do that for years. But freezing someone with a cool mist from an even cooler gun isn’t something you can do just anywhere. The Cryolator is very powerful and can freeze enemies in their tracks. It’s also really useful against powerful enemies.

The fun part is that it’s the first legendary you’ll see in the whole game as it sits behind a locked gate in Vault 111’s Overseer’s office. It’s a master lock so you’ll have to be able to pick it or bring Dogmeat and have him ‘fetch’ it for you.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Prototype UP77 “Limitless Potential”

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

One of the worst feelings is being in the middle of a firefight and finding yourself with an empty clip. The seconds it takes to reload can often spell death for even the toughest of survivors. Enemies will often take full advantage of the break in between bullets to get up close and personal with you and send you to meet your maker, so you need something that never has to reload. Ever.

The Prototype UP77 never has to be reloaded. As long as you have ammo (Cell) this Laser Pistol will keep on firing. To get it just head to the bank near University Point (south-east coast of Diamond City). Head to the basement and into the vault (has a lock that requires Master lock-picking skill) and push the shiny red button you find inside. This will open up a secret room where you can find this highly useful legendary sitting on a table.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Kiloton Radium Rifle

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

The Kiloton Radium Rifle is one absolute beast of an assault weapon. It does three types of damage with every shot; Ballistic, Radiation, and Explosive, allowing it to eat through nearly all enemies with absolute ease. Making this weapon even better is that it’s not difficult to obtain, you just need the Far Harbor expansion as well as good standing with the Children of Atom.

Head over to the Nucleus and make your way to Brother Kane’s shop. You can purchase this amazing weapon from him for around 500 Caps, making it an absolute steal.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Harvester

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

The Harvester is a Legendary Ripper that is a bit over-powered. Thanks to it’s chance to stagger enemies on every hit, and the fact that it hits multiple times per second, you can pretty much keep any enemy off balance without taking damage. That makes it very useful against all types, although I wouldn’t use it against a robot if you don’t have to.

To find this weapon you’ll to have the Far Harbor expansion and head to Echo Lake Lumber (west side of island). There will be a huge house that must have been a store at one point. Make your way up to the attic and you’ll find this weapon in a chest.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Sergeant Ash

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

Flamethrowers aren’t normally a weapon you’ll go running for. While powerful, they don’t have the best range, and they can eat up ammunition like nobody’s business. However, Sergeant Ash has a 20% chance of crippling a target’s leg, making this one seriously useful flamethrower. Use it against a crowd and you’ll have a bunch of cripples laying on the ground in seconds.

To get this weapon you’ll need the Far Harbor expansion. Head over to Arcadia (the story will lead you here early on), and talk to Dejen. You can purchase this weapon from him for just under 800 Caps.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Atom’s Judgement

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

This is quite possibly the coolest hammer in the entire game. It’s a unique one too, and not just a re-skin of what you can already find in the base game. This weapon is exclusive to the Far Harbor expansion, but luckily it isn’t difficult to obtain.

You’ll need to complete the quest “The Heretic,” which we’ve guided for you over here. Once that’s all done you’ll net Atom’s Judgement as a powerful reward. Now you can one shot enemies and watch them hilariously crumble to the ground.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Defender’s Harpoon Gun

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

The Defender’s Harpoon Gun is pretty much like your standard Harpoon Gun, only it has a very useful Legendary Perk. The Perk here ignores 30% of your enemy’s damage and energy resistance, meaning it’s helpful against those with a bit more armor than usual. You can still apply all of the usual upgrades too, making this a good weapon to keep in your pack just in case.

All you need to do is complete all of The Mariner’s side quests in Far Harbor.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Sword of Wonders

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

The Sword of Wonders is a fierce melee weapon once it’s fully upgraded. It has 30% Armor Piercing capabilities make it an attractive pickup, despite its medium swing speed.

You’ll get this sword as you play through the Nuka-World DLC. Over in Kiddie Kingdom, Oswald the Outrageous will give you a simple quests that will eventually lead you to his castle. Here, you’ll be given a choice, but worry not. Whatever you choose, you’ll be awarded with the Sword of Wonders for your trouble. If you do choose the more violent option here, we’d warn you that it’s a tough fight. It’s much easier to come in with high Charisma and talk that sword off of him.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Aeternus

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

The Aeternus is every shooting game’s dream: it never runs out of ammo. You can keep firing it for as long as you want. But, every perk comes with a price, and this legendary weapon is not easy to obtain.

In the Nuka-World DLC, you’ll need to complete the Amoral Combat quest, a repeatable mission that has you defending the Gauntlet from a challenger. Hopefully, you get the Legendary Rogue Knight, because that’s who will drop the Aeternus. If not, keep repeating the quest until this boss shows up. If you’re having trouble triggering the quest, which seems to pop randomly, some players report triggering it by running back through the Gauntlet. Players also report a bug in which the boss will not drop the gun if it is killed before pulling out its weapon. To be on the safe side, wait until their weapon comes out to start firing.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Cito’s Shiny Slugger

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

This melee weapon packs a powerful punch, and refills your AP when you critical hit. It also deals ballistic damage, perfect for a Luck or Critical build focused on refreshing your AP constantly in a constant crit cycle.

To get this weapon, head into the Safari Adventure zone of the Nuka-World DLC. There, you’ll find Cito, and start a mini adventure with him. After completing all of these quests, Cito will be your friend. He’ll offer his prized Slugger over as a gift.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

Splatter Cannon

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

The Splattercannon may possibly be the most powerful weapon in the Nuka-World Fallout 4 expansion. This auto-rifle puts other Fallout 4 rifles to shame thanks to its Furious Legendary Perk, solid accuracy, and top-notch fire rate. Every consecutive hit on an enemy does an increased amount of damage, meaning you can tear through most enemies with ease. To make this weapon seem even sweeter, you can actually get it pretty early on in the expansion as long as you have the funds necessary. It’s also fully customizable, so you can add a larger magazine, different grips, and even change the weapon type to suit your liking.

When you reach Nuka-Town, USA, right after completing the Gauntlet, head on over to the market and locate Aaron. This vendor sells guns and has the Splattercannon for a little over 10,000 Caps (this can vary depending on your build and perks). If you’ve been saving your hard-earned dough throughout the game, you can walk away immediately ready to slay anyone who crosses your path.

How to Find the Best Fallout 4 Legendary Weapons

The Problem Solver

best, legendary, weapons, fallout 4, best fallout 4 weapons, best legendary weapons, how, find, where, locations

Before we get into why this weapon is worth having, let us quickly show you how to get it since it’s missable. After completing the Gauntlet and talking to Gage for the first time, you will have the option of talking to each of the three gang leaders in Nuka-World. Make a beeline for Mason, the leader of The Pack so you can have a quick little convo. As the conversation progresses you will gain a speech-check labeled “Do as you’re told.” This will come after being able to tell him not to threaten you (which you should also do). It’s the most alpha thing you can do, something respected by this particular gang, so if you pass Mason will just give you this gun. It’s the only way to get it so if you ignore that speech check and continue on, you’re out of luck.

The Problem Solver is a unique AK-47 that does exceptional damage and increases damage by 15% with every consecutive shot on a target. If modded for a large magazine, that can really help you out early on. In many ways it is very similar to the Splattercannon, and even uses the same ammunition. The Splattercannon is slightly more accurate, but with mods and Perks, you can certainly balance that out.

That’s it, though! That’s how to get the best Fallout 4 legendary weapons. Let us know your favorite one in the comments down below!
