How to Play Buck in Rainbow Six Siege

Recommended Videos

Out of the 40+ operators in Rainbow Six Siege, few are more versatile than the game’s Canadian attacker, Buck. Alongside a powerful assault rifle, Buck has one of the most useful perks in the game, coming in the form of shotgun attachment that wreaks havoc on soft barriers and floors. If you want to become a team player, here is how to play Buck.

Before heading into battle with Buck, you’ll want to have the following loadout:

  • Primary Weapon – C8-SFW equipped with ACOG and muzzle brake.
  • Secondary Weapon – Pistol with muzzle brake.
  • Gadget – Frag Grenade (2x).
  • Ability – Skeleton Key

The C8 assault rifle is one of the most tumultuous guns in all of Rainbow Six Siege. Anyone who has ever played Buck will agree that the recoil that the gun puts out makes it almost unplayable. Even adding a muzzle brake doesn’t really offset the vertical impact that comes along with the fire. So why choose it over the DMR? The simple answer is that it has one of the highest damage outputs in the game, so practice your aim. Buck’s secondary pistol, the Mk1 9mm, is one of the more powerful ones in the game as well. Simply equip it with a muzzle brake, switching to it whenever you need a reliable shot instead of reloading.

Buck’s gadget and ability are very important as well. Unlike most attackers, Buck has access to two frag grenades, which can be used to clear out an area, destroy opposing gadgets, or simply kill. The Skeleton Key features similar destructive attributes. Working as a semi-auto shotgun attachment, the Skeleton Key is great for opening up medium-sized holes in walls, ceilings, and floors. You can also use it to damage enemies, but beware that it doesn’t pack too much of a punch.

An example of using the Skeleton Key to your advantage can be found when the objective is placed on the 2F Armory Lockers. With Buck, you can enter the floor right below, adjacent to servers, and blow it out, resulting in yet another angle the enemy team will have to watch for an attack from. This also works on the opposite end when the objective is in servers.

That is how you play Buck in Rainbow Six Siege. For more tips, tricks, and other information, be sure to check back to Twinfinite for all of your Rainbow Six Siege needs.
