How to Get Mutations Fast in RAD
You won’t last long in RAD without scoring a few active and passive Mutations, so we’re here to help with a guide on how to get mutations fast and easily.
Acting as special powers which modify and enhance your character, Mutations in RAD range from the ability to shoot fireballs to resistances to certain environmental hazards.
Unless you’re buying them from shops though, the ones you get are entirely random, limited only by the total number you’ve unlocked by playing through the game.
Fortunately, there are a few ways to get these passive and active abilities fast, and they’re pretty easy methods to pull off once you know what you’re doing.
How to Get Passive Mutations Fast in RAD
For passive Mutations, your best bet is to explore the underground tunnels scattered throughout each level. These can be found by looking for the triangular glowing doors that lead underground.
Once inside, you’ll have a high chance of finding at least one round skull monument, and by examining it you’ll unlock a random passive ability for your trouble.
There’s typically a system of tunnels tied to each level too, so exploring them all can net you a nice batch of powers with minimal hassle.
How to Get Active Mutations Fast
As for active Mutations, the process is a bit more difficult.
Active abilities can only be unlocked by killing mutants or purchasing them from shops, and the cost needed to unlock new levels of active mutations increase with each subsequent one you earn.
The only way around this is to defeat bosses, which drop mutations upon death regardless of your level.
As such, your best bet for getting new powers as fast as possible is to make a beeline for the boss chamber as soon as it’s opened.
Before you do this, however, make sure that you’re either strong enough to beat them or understand their movement and attack patterns well enough to make up for your lack of strength.
This should clear up how to get mutations fast. RAD is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, the Nintendo Switch and PC.
