False Swipe is one of the most important moves you can teach a member of your party to help you catch wild Pokemon since it’s always assured to leave your opponent with at least one HP.

Just pair that with another move that inflicts paralysis and you’ll be good to go. You’ll never have to worry about knocking out any shinies or Pokemon with Brilliant Aura.

TM

This is one of the easiest ways to teach False Swipe to a Pokemon. Unfortunately, you need to do a little bit of talking with NPCs to get TM94 which contains the attack.

This item can be purchased at the Motostoke Pokemon Center closest to Route 3. However, it’s certainly not a bargain item with the cost of 10,000 Pokedollars. But, you get unlimited uses of the item once you own it.

Only certain Pokemon can learn False Swipe from the TM, but it’s the fastest way to teach it to most mons. Just hove over the item in your bag to see who in your party can learn the move from the TM.

Leveling Up

Some Pokemon are just blessed with good genes and learn False Swipe by leveling up. The move is included in over a dozen learnsets in Sword & Shield, but many more species can learn it via TM.
