How to Get the Old Amber and What It Does in Pokemon Let’s Go
Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee are finally available on the Switch, allowing both series newcomers and longtime fans to experience the Kanto region with a gorgeous modern facelift. For the most part, things have remained the same, including the location of the Old Amber. Here’s how to get Old Amber in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee and how to use it.
Just like in the original Game Boy titles, the Old Amber can be obtained from one of the scientists in the museum at Pewter City. You can head back to grab it once you have access to the Chop Down Secret Technique, which you’ll receive from the S.S. Anne captain in Vermillion City, though we recommend waiting to get Sky Dash so you can fast travel around the world quickly.
Once you have both Secret Techniques, head back to Pewter City and check the northeastern area for a tree that you can cut down. This reveals a back entrance to the museum, and you can talk to the scientist in the corner here to get the Old Amber.
Where to Turn In the Old Amber
With the Old Amber in hand, you’ll now need to head to Cinnabar Island to get it examined. Cinnabar Island can be accessed by swimming in the water south of Pallet Town. Head all the way down south and you’ll eventually find the island.
From here, head to the Pokemon Lab and one of the scientists will resurrect a Pokemon from the Old Amber for you. This will add Aerodactyl to your team, a Rock and Flying-type Pokemon.
If you’re planning to use Aerodactyl for competitive battling, don’t forget to make use of the Fortune Teller in Celadon City to manipulate the Pokemon’s nature before resurrecting it.
In addition to that, you can also resurrect a Pokemon from the Dome or Helix Fossil you got from Mt. Moon as well.
That’s all you need to know about how to get and use the Old Amber in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. Be sure to check our Pokemon Let’s Go guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
