EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PERSONA 5 STREAMING BAN

Recommended Videos

Persona 5 has finally released in the west and, although all the embargos have lifted, Atlus has released a statement that details restrictions on streaming and the posting of video content.

Atlus simply does not want the game to be spoiled for people that haven’t played much on their own. Surely you’d be expecting spoilers if you were watching a stream but that is the reasoning given by Atlus. But if you are planning on streaming Persona 5, here is everything you should know:

  1. Their first wish is that you do not show, or speak in detail about, any story spoilers. They say it is fine for you to speak about the story in vague detail, but make sure you do not share too much.
  2. You are welcome to talk about or show Confidants, the new combat, the Velvet Room, the dungeons, etc, but be sure your viewers are aware of potential spoilers.
  3. Do not post video content that covers the events from the in-game date of 7/7 onwards because that is an important story moment in the game.
  4. For other video content, ensure that videos are no longer than 90 minutes in length. Avoid showing palace endings. Do not show too much about character introductions, including Yusuke. Do not post video content showing boss fights or extended cutscenes, excluding the first boss fight.
  5. The same restrictions apply for streaming, other than video length. Atlus once again warns you not to stream past 7/7 because doing so will be met with a content ID claim or even an account suspension.

Those are the five key things to keep in mind when streaming or posting video from Persona 5. If you go against any of Atlus’ wishes you can expect them to react. The restrictions may seem extreme but it is better to be safe than sorry. There is plenty of action in Persona 5 that you are allowed to show, however.
