Rite of Passage Side Quest Walkthrough for Octopath Traveler

The Rite of Passage side quest in Octopath Traveler begins at S’warkii in the Woodlands. Before you head to this town, make sure you have either Alfyn or Cyrus in your main party, because you will have to use their ability on an NPC to complete the side quest.

Once you enter the village, you want to speak to the aspiring hunter, who is standing right in front of the weapons shop. Speaking to him will start the Rite of Passage side quest, and once you finish the conversation, you want to head up into the North S’warkii Trail.

Follow the path to the left and you will come across an NPC standing by a fence overlooking a cliff. Use Cyrus’ Scrutinize or Alfyn’s Inquire ability to gather information from them about the Giant Boar. Once you have this information from them, you can just head back to the village and speak to the aspiring hunter and the Rite of Passage quest will be completed once you finish up the lengthy conversation. You will be rewarded with 1500 currency and an item called a Refreshing Jam for helping out the hunter.
