How to Get Money (Leaves) Fast in Octopath Traveler

Recommended Videos

Octopath Traveler takes place in the world of Orsterra, where the main form of money or currency is known as leaves. As you make your way through the world, and start tackling harder story chapters for each character, you’ll quickly find that it’s extremely important to make sure that your party is always well-equipped with the right weapons, armor, and accessories. However, equipment doesn’t come cheap, and you’ll need a lot of leaves to keep up with the big expenses in Octopath Traveler.

By far the best way of making quick money in Octopath Traveler is by doing side quests. In every town, you’ll come across orange markers on your radar, which indicate side quests. Completing these will reward you with resources, along with a few thousand leaves, and more if the quest was a particularly challenging one. Take your time to knock these out whenever you’re in a town, and make sure to Scrutinize/Inquire NPCs to see if you can learn anything new about how to progress in those quests.

Alternatively, you could also have Therion steal items from NPCs and sell them at shops. If you find NPCs with valuable items on them in Octopath Traveler, they can net you a few thousand leaves as well. You should also take the time to sell some of your outdated equipment once you have no more use for them. Having Tressa in your party will also allow her to randomly find money for you as you’re traveling across the world, or exploring a dungeon. She has a Merchant ability that lets you earn extra money for every battle won.

Lastly, you can always just choose to grind out battles for money, but we don’t recommend doing this as the process is pretty slow and inefficient. Just focus on the side quests.
