Internet – Nintendo Switch
Like all modern video game consoles, including Nintendo’s past few outings, you can connect the Nintendo Switch to the internet in order to play with others, download games, and enjoy other features. Setting up wireless internet on the console is easy.
First, you’ll need to head on over to the Settings menu. Once in there, just scroll down until you reach the internet tab. By default, your only option will be wireless, since there is no Ethernet port on the Switch or its dock. Simply select the network you wish to connect to (entering a password if necessary), and you’re good to go.
If you absolutely must have a wired connection, you’ll need to purchase a LAN to USB adapter. Connect that to the side of the dock (there are three USB ports available), and then proceed as you normally would by connecting an Ethernet cable to the adapter. Since it’s a hard-wired connection, it will instantly connect you to the magical world of the internet, and you’ll be ready to download games and be on your way. Wired connections are generally more stable and consistent, so if you tend to have issues with your wireless connection, this may be something to consider.
