We all love getting rewarded for playing video games, whether it be trophies on the PlayStation or achievements on Xbox, it feels good to get a pat on the back for doing what we love to do or even just purchasing video games. Luckily, Nintendo’s way of pushing digital sales is to reward players with MyNintendo Gold Points, which allows you to purchase digital content for a discounted price on the Nintendo eShop.

Gold Points are awarded based on 5% of the amount you pay. So, for example, if you were to download Super Mario Party on the Nintendo eShop for $59.99, you will get yourself 300 points which equate to approximately $3 that will go towards your next digital purchase, whether it be a game, downloadable content, or paying for your Switch online subscription.

You can also get some points by purchasing psychical content for your Nintendo Switch, but points will be awarded at 1% of the Nintendo eShop price for the digital version of the game, giving you fewer points than for the digital version. It seems that Nintendo wants folks to take the digital route these days when it comes to purchasing titles.

You can earn MyNintendo Gold Points by purchasing content on your Switch, 3DS, and also the Wii U; just make sure that your account is synced up on all of your Nintendo consoles/systems.

When you go to the checkout screen for the game that you’re buying, you’ll be prompted to use your Gold Points for the purchase, but you can choose to opt out if you choose to do so.

Well, that is all you need to know about getting MyNintendo Gold Points and how to use them. If you’re looking for any additional wiki guides, tips, or tricks, make sure to search for Twinfinite.
