Ni No Kuni 2 is a huge, sprawling open world JRPG with dozens of quests, side quests, and all manner of different activities to enjoy. It really does boast a mammoth amount of content, and you’ll likely find yourself losing hours of your day playing it as you dive into everything it has to offer. For that very reason, making certain that you have saved your progress is going to be pretty key. Thankfully, there are a few ways to save in Ni No Kuni 2.

First, Ni No Kuni 2 auto-saves after you’ve reached important milestones in the story, as well as when you’re about to encounter a difficult battle on the world map. If you’re navigating one of the linear sections of the game or a dungeon, you’ll find glowing blue stone save points conveniently located, which can also be used to replenish your party’s HP and MP. Make sure you stop in and manually save at these locations, as they typically signal an upcoming boss battle.

If you’re wondering how to save outside of towns and dungeons, there is a way to do so when traversing the world map. Simply press the touchpad button to access your inventory screen, then press the options button. You’ll then see the various game options, including the ability to manually save.
