How to Switch Party Members in Ni No Kuni 2

Recommended Videos

Even before booting up the game, if you had watched any of the pre-release coverage of Ni No Kuni 2, you’ll have known that Evan Pettiwhisker is its main protagonist. No doubt you were then likely surprised to take control of the game’s supporting character, Roland, in its opening chapter. Well, get used to it, because he’s not the only other character you’ll be playing as during the rest of the game, either. Although Evan is firmly at the center of its story, you’re able to traverse the world of Ni No Kuni 2 as several different party members. Not to mention, you can switch party members during battle too.

But you aren’t limited to taking control of these other party members at certain moments – it can be done at any time. Although you can manually select a character by moving them to the top of your party list, there’s an even faster way that you’ll want to familiarize yourself with. By pressing the Up button on the directional pad, players can switch between party members quickly. This control input applies both during traversal of the open world or when you’re in the middle of a battle in Ni No Kuni 2.

For PC players wanting to switch party members, the C/V keyboard buttons are the equivalent of Up/Down.

That’s all you need to know about how to switch party members in Ni No Kuni 2. For more information and guides on the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
