Your thirst level is proportional to your maximum stamina level in Metal Gear Survive, thus it is important to keep yourself hydrated at all times to ensure you can perform combative and evasive maneuvers when necessary. It’s also best to prepare for the worst and understand the ways you can cure thirst in Metal Gear Survive. Considering that your stamina decreases each second you venture out in the game’s open-world, you need to be mindful of your thirst level.

There are several items you can use to quench your thirst in Metal Gear Survive. Obviously, you need to hydrate yourself with clean water when you get thirsty. Obtaining clean water is quite difficult early on in the game, as you can only acquire dirty water from the numerous watering holes in the open world. The payoff for drinking dirty water also isn’t worth it, as your character might get inflicted with status ailments. Until you get the water filtration tool, your best bet for curing thirst is by looting bottles with clean water in the game’s open world.

Meals with liquid substance, such as soups and stew, can also cure thirst. Best of all, it also lessens your hunger level. Meals can be cooked by going to the kitchenette workspace either in your single-player base or in the multiplayer hub area.

To drink clean water or eat meals, open your menu, go to the inventory section in your personal tab, select the item you want to use, and hold X on PS4 or A on Xbox One to use it. Your thirst level is indicated by the percentage above your health bar, so make sure to keep an eye on it at all times.
