How to Create a Team in Madden 20

So let’s cut to the chase. There’s no traditional Create a Team mode or option in Madden 20. Unlike Create a Player, which is a thing you can still do as of Madden 20.

However, while you might be disappointed about this, we do have a few other alternative options you can opt for if you do want some kind of create a team experience in Madden 20 or want to try and push for a change in future iterations.

Relocate Your Franchise Team

The closest thing to having a create a team mode in Madden 20 is going ahead and relocating your franchise team in Madden. If you’re interested in this route, we have a step by step guide for how to do that, but the quick version is this: Start as a Owner, pick a team that has a bad stadium situation, and then start the relocation process and move to any of the available cities other than Las Vegas.

The various cities open to you have a few pre-chosen team names you can pick from. But if you pick Las Vegas, you’ll keep your team’s names and colors. So really all you’ll be changing is your city name and stadium.

Create an Ultimate Team Instead

Unsurprisingly Madden 20 brings back the extremely popular and lucrative Madden Ultimate Team mode. It’s definitely not the same as create a team, but you do get to put together a squad of your favorite players, which was part of the charm of old create a team mods, and you can use that to participate in online matches and leagues against other people’s teams.

It’s definitely not the same, but it’s something at least.

Request it From EA Tiburon/EA Sports

Hey if you really want to see create a team return in future Madden games (since at this point Madden 20 is a lost cause), reach out to EA Tiburon and/or EA Sports and politely ask them on Twitter to add the feature back in. If enough people ask them nicely, they may consider it a feature worth adding back in. No Pitchforks please though!

Go Play an Older Game

If all of this isn’t good enough for you, go find Madden 12 and play that instead. It’s probably worth about 50 cents at your local game store or online, and it’s the last version of the series that had a proper create a team feature in it.

It was also the year the Giants embarrassed the Tom Brady led Patriots and anyone outside of the New England area would likely agree those were better times worth revisiting.

That does it for how to create a team in Madden 20. Sorry we couldn’t deliver the news you were likely hoping for, but at least you have your answer a few alternatives.
