It was May 4th yesterday, and as fans around the world celebrated Star Wars Day, the teams over at EA and Respawn Entertainment opted to bring out a fresh new update for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. With new combat challenges for players to grind through alongside a New Journey+ mode and even fresh dark side cosmetics to unlock, there’s ample reason to return. Here’s how to get the red lightsaber in Jedi: Fallen Order.
Getting the Red Lightsaber in Jedi: Fallen Order
The red lightsaber kyber crystal can only be obtained by playing through the New Journey+ mode. This is essentially Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s equivalent of a New Game Plus mode, with players retaining all their cosmetics from their first playthrough as they take the adventure on again.
Unfortunately, players won’t have access to all of the abilities they unlocked from their first playthrough. Though, this does make sense, as having the triple jump ability unlocked from the beginning, for example, would break the game’s Metroidvania level design.
The good news is that by simply playing through Jedi: Fallen Order’s New Journey+ mode, you’ll automatically unlock the red lightsaber. Simply then head to the back of the Mantis ship and interact with the workbench to select the new red lightsaber color.
While we’re on the topic of New Journey+ exclusive cosmetics, players can also get Cal’s Inquisitor outfit by simply playing through the new mode, alongside the Protection and Defence I & II lightsaber parts.
