Is Far Cry New Dawn Coming to Nintendo Switch?
Ubisoft has earned a reputation for delivering quality Far Cry spin-offs, and they’ll be aiming to continue that trend with the upcoming Far Cry New Dawn. But unlike the mainline game, is Far Cry New Dawn coming to Nintendo Switch? Here’s what you need to know.
Although Ubisoft has a strong working relationship with Nintendo, which has spawned acclaimed titles for Nintendo Switch such as Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and Starlink, we’re going to have to disappoint you if you were hoping Far Cry New Dawn would be available for the console.
Unfortunately, there are no plans to bring Far Cry New Dawn to Nintendo Switch.
If we had to guess, the Nintendo Switch would likely have a hard time running an open world game of New Dawn’s size. Of course, we don’t actually know how big New Dawn is going to be, but if it’s anything like previous Far Cry spin-offs, it’ll be fairly large.
After all, Far Cry Primal used the same map as Far Cry 4, which itself was one the largest games of this console generation. It seems unlikely the Nintendo Switch with its less powerful CPU and GPU would be capable of playing such a game without some serious graphical downgrades.
Perhaps the only hope is that Ubisoft might make available the option to stream the game to Nintendo Switch, which is a service that it offered in Japan for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. We’ve heard nothing to suggest that would be the case yet, but that doesn’t mean it is totally off the cards.
If Twinfinite hears anything official about a Nintendo Switch version of Far Cry New Dawn, we’ll be sure to update this post.
That’s all the news we have on whether Far Cry New Dawn is coming to Nintendo Switch. For more useful information and guides on the game, be sure to search Twinfinite.
