How to Play Local Multiplayer With Friends in House of Ashes

House of Ashes, like the last game in the Anthology, Little Hope, does allow for local multiplayer play in addition to online play with an invited friend.

The setup is similar with some different labels. All you need to do is, from the main menu, go ahead and select Don’t Play Alone. This is just fancy and spooky code for the multiplayer play options in House of Ashes.

From there, go ahead and select Movie Night. Again, this is House of Ashes’s code for local multiplayer. You’ll be able to continue your save file or start a new game.

If you’re starting a new game, you’ll have the ability to create a profile of sorts for everyone who is playing and then assign them characters that they will be responsible for controlling throughout House of Ashes.

There is no split-screen at any point in House of Ashes, and the game is played with one controller only. Instead, when someone’s character takes the lead in the story, the controller should be passed to them, and the game will pause and let you know it’s time to go ahead and do just that.

That’s all you need to know for how to play local multiplayer with friends in House of Ashes, the latest in The Dark Pictures Anthology. Hopefully, this helped and you are able to enjoy a nice night or two with friends engaging in some spooks.
