Deflect Attacks in Hades

You won’t be able to parry or deflect attacks by default, but if you manage to get Boons from Athena, you can start putting together a really good defensive build. Athena’s Boons for your regular attacks, specials, dash, and your cast ability will allow you to deflect attacks.

To do this, all you have to do is use an ability just as an attack is about to hit you in order to deflect it. So right before you get hit, you can hit the regular attack button (or your special or cast if you already got deflecting boons for those abilities) to parry it and reflect it back towards your enemies.

The good news is that it’s fairly easy to deflect attacks in this game, so you don’t have to be too mindful about parry windows or trying to time it perfectly. This is a good way to try to stay safe, especially once you head past the first area and things start getting a lot more bullet hellish.

In addition to being able to deflect attacks, Athena’s Boons are also very defensive, allowing you to increase your defense against enemy attacks and traps. If you’re relatively new to the game and you’re having a tougher time in the beginning, try to prioritize getting Athena’s Boons whenever you see them to increase your defensive capabilities.

That’s all you need to know about how to deflect attacks in Hades. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
