This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

In addition to what is perhaps the best narrative in any Gears game so far, the fifth entry in the series also introduces a bunch of great new gameplay mechanics. That includes vehicles like the awesome Skiff, which is used to transport both personnel and equipment. Here’s how to store weapons on the Skiff in Gears 5.

This is done by walking over to either side of the skiff towards the front and pressing X when the prompt to ‘stow weapons’ appears.

When you perform this action, the weapon you currently have equipped will be stowed, so make sure you equip the weapon you want to store before doing so.

If you’ve made an error or just want to retrieve a certain stored weapon, all you need to do is perform the same action again — walk over to it and press X.

You’ll certainly want to get comfortable with using the Skiff, as Gears 5 creative director Rod Fergusson recently explained that certain areas of the game are absolutely enormous:

“What players will see in Act 2 and Act 3 of the campaign is that you’ll be able to use the Skiff to traverse the largest levels we’ve ever built… You know, in some cases, the levels are 50-times bigger than any previous Gears level.”

That should give you everything you need to know about how to store weapons on the Skiff in Gears 5. For more useful tips and guides on the game then be sure to check out our detailed guide wiki.
