This brings a new limited-time mode to the table, alongside a bunch of challenges that can be completed for rewards, including a flashy new umbrella. One challenge tasks players to destroy haunted household furniture in Fortnite.

Fortnite Haunted Household Furniture Explained

Haunted household furniture can be found inside houses in named locations. We’ve had luck finding this spooky furniture at Salty Springs, Weeping Woods, Lazy Lake, Retail Row and Pleasant Park.

From what we can gather, the exact locations of Fortnite’s haunted household furniture is completely random, so just make sure you’re exploring all buildings when you land and chances are you’ll be able to find plenty of this furniture fairly handy.

You’ll know you’ve come across haunted household furniture as it’ll basically look like it’s possessed. The furniture will have a slight glow or shine to it, and will move and float a little bit. Essentially it looks a little bit like this:

Destroying Haunted Household Furniture in Fortnite

To complete this Fortnitemares challenge, you’ll need to destroy five pieces of haunted household furniture. This can be done by either using your harvester (pickaxe) or any other weapon that you have on you at the time. Shoot at it, and after a while it’ll be destroyed.

It doesn’t have any additional health compared to the usual chairs and bookcases you’d find in Fortnite normally, so it really doesn’t take too long to destroy and complete this challenge.
