When the FIFA 19 Beta Starts
The release of FIFA 19 is less than two months away, and while you may still be engrossed in 18’s Ultimate Team Futties promo, it’s time to start thinking about the new game. Before the always popular demo releases in early to mid September, a closed beta should be released that will allow some players to get familiar with the new gameplay features and should allow EA Sports to iron out any bugs that arise. Here’s everything you need to know about the beta, including when it starts.
EA Sports doesn’t shout about the FIFA closed beta each year, so it’s difficult to offer an exact start time until the codes are sent out, which might either mean you already know, or you’re not getting a code. Anyway, it tends to start the second week of August, typically at 6pm BST/1pm ET on the Friday, but we will confirm that here as soon as it is revealed for FIFA 19.
The FIFA 19 closed beta codes will be sent out the week before, and you need to sign up to receive emails from EA Sports and hope that you are one of the people who are chosen to take part. You will have access to one of the modes to start with, before they all open up, and it will run for a week or so, maybe up to 10 days. You can sign up here, and all you need to do is wait a few days and keep your fingers crossed that a code will appear in your inbox. You will then be able to input the code into your platform of choice, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 typically being the only platforms involved, and you’ll be able to jump in and test FIFA 19.
Update:Â As of 12pm ET on Aug. 8, EA Sports has begun sending out beta codes. It will go live at 1pm ET on Aug. 10.
