How to Do a Threaded Through Pass in FIFA 18

If you want to get every achievement or trophy in FIFA 18, you’ll need to know how to do a threaded through pass. Or perhaps you don’t care about trophies and achievements and just want to know how to slice open defenses with a clinical pass. Well, you’ve come to the right place, and fortunately for you, the threaded through pass is pretty simple to pull off in FIFA 18.

In order to do a threaded through pass in FIFA 18, all you need to do is hold R1 (RB on Xbox One) and press Triangle (Y) to get the right amount of power on it. This will have your player do a through ball with a bit of extra curve to get it past a defender or between two defenders that a fellow teammate can perfectly run onto. The button input for a threaded through pass is simple in FIFA 18, but to truly make the most of this technique, you’ll need to nail the timing.

Ideally, you want to make a threaded through pass just as you see your teammate making their run past the defender. If you get it right, you’ll assume control of the runner in a ton of room. These are particularly effective when playing the ball out onto the wings to either cut in and shoot or cross to a target man in the center.
