With the release of patch 5.1 for Final Fantasy XIV, there’s plenty of new content to dive into, including new story content, the new Alliance raid, and even new adjustments to help make crafting and gathering a little easier. And, of course, there are also new collectibles and minions to hunt down. Here’s how to get Bacon Bits minion in FFXIV.

How to Get Bacon Bits Minion in FFXIV

If you’ve kept up with the new story content dropped in patch 5.1, you’ll be familiar with the Lord of Verminion. It’s the very same clay-pig thing Alisaie managed to bring to life at the end of the latest story chapter.

However, actually getting this minion isn’t as straightforward as you might like. In fact, it requires you to have invested quite a bit of time into your retainers and getting them to at least a level 80 Botanist.

Once you have a retainer that can go on level 80 Botanist ventures, you’ll be able to start trying your luck at getting the Bacon Bits item, which grants you the Lord of Verminion minion itself.

All you have to do is go to any Summoning Bell in Eorzea, summon your retainer, and choose to send them out on either a Quick Venture or a level 80 Woodland Exploration XXV venture. Once they come back, they have a chance of getting the Bacon Bits item for you.

The only other thing to keep in mind is that you’ll need enough venture tokens to send them out, and they can be purchased pretty cheaply from your Grand Company vendor in either Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, or Ul’Dah.

To recap, here’s how to get the Bacon Bits minion in FFXIV:

  1. Level up a retainer to be a level 8- Botanist.

  2. Send them out on either a Quick Venture or level 80 Woodland Exploration XXV venture.

  3. They will then have a chance of coming back with the Bacon Bits item required to summon the Lord of Verminion.

The Lord of Verminion description is as follows:

“After seeing a dream wherein they were being followed by a flying pig, a retainer out gathering absent-mindedly worked some clay into the creature’s likeness. To their surprise, the creature suddenly sprang to life –most likely at the hands of a pixie bent on mischief.“
