Final Fantasy XIV is without a doubt one of the most popular and beloved MMORPGs on the market right now. However, the good times do come to an end eventually. Whether you want to delete your account or cancel your subscription, the idea that you’re done paying Square Enix $15 will come to you eventually. If you’re here, then you’re probably already in the middle of this process, and are wondering what the difference is between Cancel Service and Cancel Subscription in FFXIV. Here’s what you need to know.
Cancel Service FFXIV
Cancel Service might sound like it’s the same as cancelling your subscription. After all, you’re paying for a service and you want to cancel it.
However, be careful: Cancel service actually deletes your entire account. Everything associated with your account, including characters, will be nuked, and you’ll be at square zero again.
Only pick this if, for whatever reason, you want to permanently delete everything associated with your FFXIV account. If you think there’s a 1% chance you might return one day, use the option detailed below instead.
Cancel Subscription FFXIV
This one is a bit more self-explanatory, especially now that Cancel Service is clarified. All it does is cancel your current FFXIV subscription.
You’ll still be able to play out the rest of the days remaining on what you already paid for, but once those days run out, your subscription to FFXIV will not renew and you’ll need to manually renew it again.
Use this option if you just want to take a break and plan to return to FFXIV again one day in the future.
That’s all you need to know about the difference between Cancel Service and Cancel Subscription in FFXIV.
