The main story of Final Fantasy XIV has come to a standstill for now as we wait for the next major story patch to drop. However, there’s still plenty of things to see and do until then, such as grinding for rare materials with your gathering classes. Here’s how to get Chromite Ore in FFXIV.
How to Get Chromite Ore in FFXIV
Released during the Stormblood expansion, Chromite Ore was one of the new materials that you could only get through mining from a legendary node. This means that you need to get your Miner up to level 70 at the very least, and try to gear up properly to make the mining process a little easier on you.
If you’re new to mining or gathering in general, once you reach the level cap for any given expansion, you’ll be able to start mining ephemeral or legendary nodes, which are only available at a specific hour in Eorzean time.
These materials can usually be turned in to Rowena as collectables in exchange for scrips, and the amount you get will increase depending on how high the quality is.
For the Chromite Ore, you can only mine it at 10 a.m. or 10 p.m. Eorzean time. It can be found at the Wightrock area in the Peaks, at coordinates X: 15.6, Y:34.
As long as you manage to interact with the node within the specified area, you can take your time to mine it carefully. It’s definitely recommended that you think through your actions carefully to avoid exhausting all your GP by trying to increase the material quality before you can even successfully mine it.
To recap, here’s how to get Chromite Ore in FFXIV:
- Get your Miner class up to level 70.
- Mine the legendary node at the Wightrock area in the Peaks, coordinates X: 15.6, Y:34.
