How to Get the Dog (Timber) in Far Cry New Dawn
Far Cry New Dawn takes players back to Hope County in the wake of Far Cry 5, this time contending with mutated creatures and raiders in the apocalypse. You won’t be alone in the fight, however, as the Guns for Hire system returns once again, with a host of new allies. Here’s how to get the dog (Timber) in Far Cry New Dawn.
Unfortunately, your canine companion from Far Cry 5, Boomer, won’t be returning. However, a brand new mutt named Timber will be at your side to take down enemies, but you’ll have to get him first.
What you need to do is complete the side mission called “Man Eat Dog World,” which will appear as a Shiba Inu-like icon on your map. There’s an NPC in Prosperity who can give you the quest, but other NPCs in the open world with a blue icon above their head can also give it to you.
Once you’ve started the mission just defeat the enemies at the location you end up at, then go up to “the dog” in one of the cells. Pet it using Square (X) and it’ll start leading you around the camp.
Follow the dog around and he’ll eventually lead you to a key, which you can use to unlock all of the other cells. After setting everyone free, Timber will officially join you as one of the Guns for Hire in Far Cry New Dawn.
Just like the other guns, leveling up Timber can give him valuable new abilities. Here’s what he can get.
- Level 1 – Timber can tag enemies.
- Level 2 – Timber can tag crafting materials.
- Level 3 – Timber will intercept animals trying to attack you.
Now that you have Man’s Best Friend by your side, nothing can stop you. Not even some psychotic raiders hellbent on getting your scalp.
That’s everything you need to know about how to get the dog (Timber) in Far Cry New Dawn. For even more tips and guides make sure to search Twinfinite, and take a look at our extensive Far Cry New Dawn wiki.
