How to Change Weapon Fire Mode in Far Cry New Dawn
Just because your Assault Rifle fires in Full Auto mode by default, doesn’t mean it’s stuck like that forever. These jack-of-all-trade weapons in Far Cry New Dawn have different fire modes, and it’s possible to change through these at your leisure. Here’s how to change weapon fire mode in Far Cry New Dawn.
First things first, let us reiterate: only Assault Rifles have different weapon fire modes in Far Cry New Dawn. As beautiful as it would be to see a full auto shotgun or sniper, it’s not to be. Therefore, before following the instructions to change weapon fire mode below, make sure that you’ve definitely got an AR equipped.
Now that you’ve got the right weapon, all you need to do is press and hold L1/LB to open the weapon wheel and then use the right analog stick to highlight your Assault Rifle. While keeping it highlighted, now press R2/RT to cycle through the various fire modes.

- Full Auto – Hold down your trigger for a constant stream of fire until the clip runs out.
- Interruptible Burst – Quick, more precise blasts of three or four rounds.
- Single Shot – A single shot is fired whether you press or hold down your trigger.
