Vegeta’s Initiation Test in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Recommended Videos

The ultimate, fan-favorite saiyan is sure to make a good mentor in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. He’s also going to expect a lot out of you, so make sure to bring your A game as you work to impress Vegeta. He’s sick of being called short, balding, and Discount Goku, okay? He has a lot to prove and you’re going to have to strive to impress him more than he’s impressed by his sons. Wait, that’s not hard to do at all. You’re going to have to strive to impress him more than he’s impressed by himself. There.

Where is he? You can find Vegeta, after progressing through the story past the fight with Frieza, on the hill near Shenron’s summoning location.

For this first initiation test, all you need to do is hit Vegeta with Galick Gun. Simple enough, right? Once you do, you will receive the following rewards:

  • 100 Zeni
  • Galick Gun

Great job! Now it’s time to move on to the real tests. Keep in mind that if you’re not able to progress in the lessons, it means you need to progress in your advancement tests at the school (lower left-hand corner of the map).

Lesson 1: Finish Breaker

The iconic Saibamen make their return for this lesson. Vegeta wants you to face them, then him, all while keeping yourself alive. You need to beat 10 Saibamen and then finish Vegeta off with Finish Breaker. Be prepared for this move to spurt out a volley of ki blasts, as it’s the same thing he does in the anime over and over. Just make sure not to implode like Yamcha and you will be fine. The Saibamen should be taken out quickly, as they’re (as expected) weaklings. Just stay focused and you’ll do this in no time.

Once you do, you will receive the following rewards:

  • 200 Zeni
  • Finish Breaker

Congratulations! You’re better than Yamcha!

Lesson 2: Flash Strike

It’s time to get a bit funky with his lessons. He’s going to mix things up and once again have you facing multiple enemies. This time, though, you will be going up against Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta. These are, of course, tougher than Saibamen, but don’t fret. They’re still just the lowest common denominator saiyans. You also only have to beat Vegeta in order to beat this lesson, so zero in on him. Don’t worry about Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum.

Once you defeat him, and rightfully ignore Nappa and Raditz, you will receive the following rewards:

  • 300 Zeni
  • Flash Strike

Congratulations! You’re on your way to the last lesson this snappy saiyan has to teach you.

Lesson 3: Final Flash

This lesson requires you to first pass the God Exam, and then you will be able to proceed under Vegeta’s mentorship. Once you do, speak to him to initiate this lesson. As it’s the final one, expect it to be a bit tough. You will have to beat Vegeta using Final Flash. Don’t worry, though, the game helps you out by not letting his health drop past a certain point without you using the move. So you can wail on him all you want, but be sure to defend yourself, as well.

Once you complete the final test, you will receive the following:

  • 400 Zeni
  • Final Flash

Congratulations, you’re all done with this mentor and well on your way to learning all the moves there are. For more help with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, including more mentors, be sure to check out our wiki!
