How to Transform as Onion Knight in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

Final Fantasy III was the first game in the series to feature a job system where you could change your party members’ jobs on the fly. The starting job was onion knight, but you could eventually unlock really powerful jobs, including ninja and sage. In Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, Onion Knight has the ability to transform into these more powerful jobs, and you may be wondering just how to to do this.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT allows you to transform jobs via two methods. The first way is to simply use Onion Knight’s unique EX move. Each character has a unique EX move that is performed by pressing triangle on its own after the move has been charged up. Your EX moves are displayed in the lower left-hand corner of the screen during a battle in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. The icon that only has a triangle next to it is the one that you’re looking for. When that is charged, simply press the triangle button without holding the directional stick in any direction (as that will activate other moves) and you will transform into either a ninja, pressing it again once recharged will transform you into a White Mage, and a third press will transform you back in Onion Knight.

If you want to specifically pick one of the two jobs to transform into in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, then you’ll have to use the second method of transforming. To do this, you must hit your opponent several times with a particular type of attack – physical attacks to change into ninja, magical attacks to change into sage. Again, if you want to transform back into the onion knight job, press triangle once the EX move is charged up.

The ninja job grants increased speed, a triple jump and stronger attacks up close, while the sage, on the other hand, allows Onion Knight to cast a variety of long ranged spells. The onion knight job is arguably the weakest of the three in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, so it is vital to utilize Onion Knight’s ability to change jobs in order to get the most out of this specialist character.
