Codemasters‘ most recent rally title, Dirt Rally 2.0, is one of the free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers in April 2020. With all the different weather and terrain that stages can be set on, the game can be really tough. Nighttime events are even tougher when you can barely see a few feet in front of the car. So that you can see the next corner of the stage, here’s everything you need to know about how to turn on headlights in Dirt Rally 2.0.

In darker stages, having the headlights on is vital, but they don’t always turn on automatically. It’s also pretty easy to accidentally turn them off, so it’s good to know how to bring them back so that you don’t drive off the side of a cliff.

How to Turn on Headlights in Dirt Rally 2.0

By default, all you need to do to turn on headlights in Dirt Rally 2.0 is press the R1 button if you’re on PS4 or RB if you’re playing on Xbox One.

With it being so close to the right trigger though, which you use for accelerating, having it bound to that button can be a bit annoying. Thankfully, it’s easy to change.

From the main menu, scroll along to the Options and Extras tab, select Input, and then the controller you’re using. If you’ve not changed the buttons before, turn on headlights should be set to R1, but you can change any of them from this screen, making it less likely that you’ll accidentally turn them off during a race.
