How to Holster and Change Weapons in Demon’s Souls

As with other Souls games, holstering and changing weapons in Demon’s Souls requires a few steps to pull off.

For holstering, you’ll first need to make sure you have an empty slot in your left or right hand by editing your equipment. This is done by opening up the equipment menu by pressing the Options button, selecting the equipment tab and then ensuring one of the two slots dedicated to your left or right hand is empty.

Once you’ve done this, you can press left or right on the D-Pad to holster the weapon you have equipped in your left or right hand respectively; or at least, do the closest thing to it by unequipping it temporarily. You can then re-equip your weapon by pressing left or right on the D-Pad again.

Changing weapons, meanwhile, is done in much the same way. The only difference is that you’ll need to have both equipment slots of either of your hands filled.

So long as this is the case, you can swap between your actively equipped weapon by pressing right on the D-Pad for your right-handed gear and Left for your left-handed gear.

That about it really. It doesn’t take long to get the hang of, and once you do, you’ll be prepared to adapt your combat strategy on the fly.

Hopefully this cleared up how to holster and change your weapons in Demon’s Souls. For more on the game, check out some of our other guides on topics like how to play co-op multiplayer and how to leave messages.
