There are a ton of different weapons and weapon types you can find (or craft) in Biomutant to help you take down any enemies that stand in your way of saving the Tree of Life. Once you’re done hacking, slashing, and shooting, you’ll likely want to holster your weapon. In this guide, we’ll explain how to unequip and holster weapons in Biomutant so your character isn’t awkwardly running about with them in hand.
Holstering Weapons in Biomutant
The good news is that after a while of sprinting around the world out of combat, your character will automatically holster any weapon they have equipped, be it ranged or melee. The main way we found to trigger this is to begin sprinting by pressing Shift on PC or pressing L3 (click in left analog stick) on consoles.
Your character will then begin running about on all four legs, forcing them to put their weapons away.
Alternatively, you can manually holster weapons in Biomutant by unequipping them. You can do this by pressing and holding right on the d-pad, and then selecting the melee weapon from the radial menu you want to holster with the analog stick. Release the d-pad and analog stick to unequip the weapon.
If you want to unequip and holster a ranged weapon, it’s the same process but you’re using left on the d-pad instead of right.
Keep in mind if you unequip weapons with the d-pad, you’ll need to equip them again when you next reach a combat scenario. As such, we’d recommend just letting the game automatically holster your weapons when you begin sprinting.
