You can change the mod’s range of effect from two tiles to another number, and you can also change how much friendship you gain by being next to the residents. There’s no limit on how much you can increase friendship per day, so you can enjoy hanging out with your favorite characters as much as you want to gain it quickly.

Even Better RNG

While a “better RNG” mod exists on GitHub, this mod makes the RNG in the game even better.
It uses much faster and less problematic RNG in various parts of the game, and fixes many of the broken RNG elements of the base game. The base game uses DotNet Framework’s System.Random mechanism, which the creator of this mod explains is slow and biased toward low values.

This last mod might be the most basic yet convenient one yet. The coffee adrenaline mod adds shots of espresso to cups of coffee, allowing you to move faster and for a longer amount of time.
You can configure it to give a speed buff that ranges from 1-5x the typical speed, and the duration will last over eight minutes.
