The latest game from Ubisoft‘s long running Assassin’s Creed series is here. Odyssey takes the series to its earliest point yet, ancient Greece, before the events of Origins even. Speaking of Origins, Assassin’s Creed Origins was one of the early games to take advantage of the power of the Xbox One X. So, naturally, many people are wondering if Odyssey is One X enhanced as well.

If you’re here, reading this, you’re probably one of the people wondering if  Odyssey makes use of the X. Luckily, we have good news. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is Xbox One X enhanced in a lot of different ways. Most notably, you have access to 4K visuals and beautiful HDR. Assuming, of course, that you have a television set that is able to support both 4K and HDR. Without a 4K/HDR enabled TV, you’ll still benefit from having the best looking non-4K game that your television set can handle, but it won’t be full in 4K and/or HDR.

If you made the investment for a One X and a 4K/HDR television set, you’ll be in for a feast for the eyes.

Odyssey follows in the footsteps of Origins. Namely, it is an extremely pretty game filled with varied environments. This time around, it’s a little less desert-y, although Origins to its credit had plenty of non-desert locations as well. Odyssey takes place during a turbulent time in Ancient Greece where factions of Greeks, led by Athens and Sparta respectively, are the brink of war. You’ll be treated to plenty of seaside and mountainous Mediterranean vistas. All of which look wonderful when running on the Xbox One X.
